This project brings together a set of learning and innovation initiatives aimed at promoting lifelong learning and strengthening collective resilience. This approach is part of UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities movement, following the example of Edmonton.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
ByWard / Ottawa becomes a living lab for learning and social innovation.
Contribution to a more sustainable and inclusive local economy.
Positioning Ottawa within the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, following Edmonton and Montréal’s Quartier latin apprenant project.
Creation of a model that can be replicated in other canadian cities.
STAKEHOLDERS
Educational institutions (schools, universities, training centers).

INTERVENE
An incubator for community-driven projects co-created with local stakeholders. Its mission is to stimulate and support the design of multi-stakeholder, cross-sector, innovative, and transferable initiatives.
SHARE
Knowledge dissemination and mobilization activities that encompass varied and innovative actions aimed at bringing people together and sharing information and knowledge.
PURPOSES
Foster urban resilience, understood as the capacity of a city's systems, businesses, institutions, communities, and individuals to survive, adapt, and thrive;
Promote inclusive learning everywhere, from schools to community centers, workplaces, and cultural venues;
Support programs highlighting the importance of Indigenous knowledge systems, such as language revitalization projects and community-based cultural learning;
Enable individuals to develop professional skills to adapt to technological and economic changes;
Ensure the use of modern learning techniques to provide opportunities through digital platforms;
Strengthen excellence in learning by improving the formal education system and informal learning initiatives.
