BYWARD – Towards a Learning district...
The ByWard Pole is both a physical and virtual space open to exchanges and networking among a wide range of stakeholders — elected officials, public administrations, local businesses, community organizations, cultural industries, and citizens — focused on downtown revitalization as well as social, safety and community well-being issues.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
ByWard becomes a living laboratory for learning and social innovation.
Creation of a Pole of learning.
Contribution to a more sustainable and inclusive local economy.
Positioning Ottawa within the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, following the example of Edmonton and Montréal’s Quartier latin apprenant project.
Creation of a model that can be replicated in other canadian cities.
STAKEHOLDERS

INTERVENIR
An incubator for community-driven projects co-created with local stakeholders. Its mission is to stimulate and support the design of multi-stakeholder, cross-sector, innovative, and transferable initiatives.
Répondre aux problématiques urbaines identifiées par les partenaires.
Développement d’infrastructures de recherche, de systemes de gouvernance des donnees et des outils IA d’aide à la décision.
Créer des opportunités de stages en milieu de pratique pour les étudiantes et étudiants.
Concevoir et gérer un systeme de suivi continue de l'efficacité des initiatives et une veille sur les tendances et les innovations.
PARTAGER
Des activités de maillage et des ateliers pratiques consacrés au développement de projets à impact pour favoriser la conception de projets multipartites, intersectoriels, novateurs et transférables.
Répondre aux besoins de renforcement des capacités identifiées par les partenaires.
Élaborer et mettre en œuvre des programmes de sensibilisation sondages, enquetes, webinaires, ateliers, guides, Magasine, Rapport, Balado.
Proposer une distribution de ressources et des outils de diffusion de connaissance novateurs Magasine, Rapport, Balado.
Organiser des activites de reconnaissance et mobilisation citoyenne.
POLE BYWARD
As both a space for resilient foresight and ideation, the ByWard Hub is a catalyst for urban resilience and innovation. It addresses the needs for information sharing, applied research, and the mobilization of knowledge and practices on community development.
This collaborative project, bringing together stakeholders based in the ByWard district, is part of UNESCO’s international Learning Cities movement, following in the footsteps of Edmonton and Montréal’s Quartier latin apprenant initiative. The goal is to make ByWard a resilient and learning neighborhood.
